120 male and female students soar into space in the fifth scientific camp for orphans in the Kingdom
(Mesbar 5) was launched today, Saturday, under the patronage of the Deputy Emir of the Eastern Province and organized by the Building Association
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, the launching ceremony of the fifth scientific camp 2022 AD (Mesbar 5) was held this Saturday morning, organized by the Charitable Society for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province (Benaa) in strategic partnership with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, with the participation of (120) male and female students nominated by (28) orphan care associations from various regions of the Kingdom.

The launch ceremony, which was held remotely, began with verses from the Holy Quran, recited by student Talal Al Rashidi, one of the students participating in the camp, and Mr. Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalidi, Director General of the Bena Association for Orphan Care, gave a speech in which he thanked His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, for his support of the camp, as well as His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, for his sponsorship of the camp in its fifth edition.And also to His Highness Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, based on their continued interest in the camp in all its editions.Professor Al-Khalidi extended his thanks to the strategic partner, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, the supporting partners, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the associations, the male and female supervisors of the camp and the students participating in it.

Mr. Al-Khalidi explained in his speech that the camp will continue for a period of eight days until next Saturday, the date of 12 Jumada al-Akhirah 1443 AH, corresponding to January 15, 2022 AD.Through its programs and paths, it aims to provide knowledge enrichment in the modern scientific fields of science and technology in a way that contributes to achieving the nation’s vision (2030) for (120) sons and daughters who were accepted from among a number of applicants and candidates by (28) orphan care associations from various regions of the Kingdom, confident that after completing the camp, they will have the ability to anticipate the future and the determination to serve their nation and their communities.

Then the audience watched a visual presentation to introduce the camp, which has been held annually since 2018 and targets outstanding male and female students from the Kingdom’s orphans.The focus is on enriching the participants and introducing them to the most important skills of the twenty-first century.The clip also included a group of photos taken of the camp's activities in its fourth edition, and words by the organizers, participating professors, and some creative male and female students.

After that, Dr. Khaled bin Ali Al-Anazi - Deputy Dean of Student Affairs for student activities and programs at the university, gave a speech in which he thanked the sponsors, supporters, organizers of the camp and its participants, male and female male and female students, appreciating the efforts made and the time spent preparing the course content and planning practical projects so that the participants obtain a valuable scientific outcome that will benefit them in their future and benefit their country.

At the end of his speech, Dr. Al-Anzi urged the male and female students to participate actively and make the most of the knowledge and sciences they acquire during the camp period.He stressed that what makes a person's personality is the experiences and knowledge he possesses that enable him to communicate with the environment surrounding him and draw his positive effects on it.The camp is the greatest opportunity to give them these experiences and knowledge.

It is noteworthy that the camp is hosted by King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals as a strategic scientific and academic partner for implementing the camp and providing programs in order to enhance the quality of the scientific material presented to the beneficiaries of distinguished male and female students in the third year of secondary school in the (scientific) track.During the camp period, students will acquire a range of knowledge and skills in scientific fields, including the Internet of Things, renewable energy, data science, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.In addition to a group of enrichment programs that are closely related to the Kingdom’s Vision (2030), as well as the necessary life skills during the university stage that they are entering.These programs are offered by an elite group of faculty members who have a high level of competence and scientific experience in these fields.

In order to ensure the safety of the camp participants and to follow the precautionary measures for the Corona pandemic, the camp programs will be implemented remotely by taking advantage of the Zoom platform.The association was keen to provide the male and female students participating in the camp with all the necessary tools and devices to ensure that they would all have all the necessary capabilities to benefit from the camp and enter the educational platform.

The start of the camp was preceded by a press conference held on Monday, Jumada Al-Awwal 30, 1443 AH, corresponding to January 3, 2022 AD, at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, attended by the Director General of the Benaa Society for Orphan Care, Mr. Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Khalidi, Dr. Khalid bin Ali Al-Anazi, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs for student activities and programs at the university, and a number of journalists and media professionals from news agencies and local newspapers, in addition to a group of officials.And those involved in organizing the camp.The conference reviewed the latest preparations and arrangements related to organizing the camp and informed the media about them.
