His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bena Association for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province, urged families and beneficiaries of the association’s services to adhere to the precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus. This came during His Highness chairing the association’s thirty-eighth board of directors meeting via video call, and at the beginning of the meeting, His Highness thanked the members and employees of the association for their efforts that they provided during the last period, which in turn was reflected in the quality of the services provided.to the beneficiaries and urged them to make more efforts, and during the meeting the follow-up report for the King Abdulaziz Award was approved, which came as a result of the association winning the King Abdulaziz Award for Quality 2020, bronze level.The Council also approved the recommendations of the Endowment Council for investment to achieve the financial sustainability of the Association and its services.The Council also reviewed the marketing campaign plan, “Save for Your Hereafter,” which aims to allow all members of society to support the association and its programs and services provided to orphans through the online store, bank accounts, monthly deductions, or donations via text messages 5151.
The Council reviewed the initiatives provided by the Association during the past year, amounting to more than 30 million riyals, which focused on services provided to orphans during the past year 2020. It included a group of initiatives and projects that aimed to achieve the Association’s strategy. The total number of initiatives reached 126 initiatives and projects distributed among the Association’s departments, including initiatives that took place during the Corona pandemic, most notably the provision of tablet devices to its student beneficiaries to enable them to study remotely. It also included 26 initiatives for the Social Service Department and 26 other initiatives for the Department of Social Services.Programs, 6 initiatives for the Empowerment Department, 16 initiatives for the Human Resources Department, 7 technology initiatives, 12 quality and institutional excellence initiatives, 13 initiatives for the Financial Resources Development Department, and 19 initiatives for the Public Relations and Media Department.
During the meeting, the Council approved the minutes of its thirty-seventh meeting, and also approved the association’s operational performance report and the financial report for the year 2020.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Highness expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the supporters of the association and its partners in success and thanks. He also thanked the members of the Board of Directors, the executive management and the work team for the efforts and continuous work to care, rehabilitate and empower orphans.
