The Bena Association for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province succeeded in organizing the “Every Day a Home in 2023” campaign to purchase and furnish new housing units for orphans and their families among the association’s beneficiaries at the rate of purchasing a housing unit every working day during the year, after the association’s success in purchasing and furnishing (300) new housing units during the past year 2022 AD with the support of charitable people. The Director General of the Association, Abdullah Al-Khalidi, noted the continued support for the campaign from His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Region, and his deputy, His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, so that the orphans and their families can achieve the dream of owning a suitable and furnished home, pointing to the directives and support of the Association’s Board of Directors headed by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Muhammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz.The Chairman of the Board of Directors for that project in particular since it was an idea, and its follow-up continued until the signing of the tripartite agreement between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the National Housing Foundation (Joud Platform) and the Bena Association, which aims to own (1,000) housing units within (5) years and make more than a thousand beneficiaries happy by moving to new and furnished housing units that will provide them with a decent living and contribute to improving their standard of life. Al-Khalidi added that the campaign resulted in the purchase and furnishing of 300 housing units, from which 1,050 orphans and widows benefited, through the efforts of supporters, partners, and donors. A field visit will be arranged for the supporters to witness the impact of their support and congratulate the beneficiaries on their housing units, indicating that the Benaa Association will continue its ongoing work and leadership in caring for and empowering orphans and owning suitable housing.Within the framework of the tripartite partnership. Al-Khalidi stated that this specific project directly affects the lives of orphans and is a major shift in the services provided to orphans, and will have a clear and direct impact on the stability of orphan families, and contribute to raising the percentage of citizens’ ownership of homes in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.” Businessmen and supporters of the project visited the families who contributed to realizing their dream and buying apartments for them, as the project achieved its goals and became a reality, praise be to God. He explained that the project comes as one of the outcomes of developmental housing, which aims to provide orphans with housing units, work to prepare the units, develop the beneficiaries, empower them in the educational, pedagogical, and professional aspects, and improve their quality of life in the environmental, health, social, and recreational aspects. The program also cares for all segments of Saudi society and provides support to every citizen with the aim of achieving sustainable development and a decent life for all citizens.
