His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Benaa Association for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province, chaired the 46th meeting of the Association’s Board of Directors in the presence of members of the Board of Directors.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Prince praised the support and empowerment given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect them - for humanitarian work and non-profit sector organizations, which is one of the pillars of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which established and supported the work of non-profit organizations, until it reached what we currently see in the Kingdom in general and in a constructive society in particular.
The agenda was also reviewed, as the Council discussed in its meeting the operational plan for the year 2023, which includes initiatives to care for and empower orphans in a number of fields, and the “Save for Your Hereafter” campaign plan for the year 2023, in continuation of the success of the campaign in previous years.
The Council reviewed the estimated budget for the year 2023, which included a report showing the total expenditures for family services and programs in the amount of 66 million riyals, and the operational performance report for the period from January to the end of October 2022, which included the most prominent achievements of the association’s work team during the period, a summary of the performance evaluation, and a discussion of the draft third strategic plan.
The Council approved the cooperation agreement signed with the Eastern Province Secretariat, and also approved the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, which aims to empower families and help them achieve self-sufficiency and self-reliance.
The Council praised the issuance of the Association’s license to work abroad from the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, as this license will add a new qualitative dimension to the level of services provided by the Association, and the Benaa Association is considered the first Saudi orphan association to obtain this license.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director General of the Association, Abdullah Al-Khalidi, extended his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, and to the rest of the members of the Board of Directors for the support and follow-up, which had a great impact, after God’s success, in the excellence of the Association and its provision of high-quality services, especially in the educational and developmental aspect through educational programs, scholarships, medical insurance, etc., in addition to realizing the dream of orphans in purchasing and owning housing units, as the Association, with the guidance and support of His HighnessAnd members of the Board of Directors and supporters, during this year 2022 AD, more than 250 orphan families were able to own a number of new and furnished housing units, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs Housing and the National Housing Foundation, and this contributes to raising the percentage of citizens owning homes.
