The launch of the scientific camp for the Kingdom’s orphans with the participation of 120 male and female students who learn about the sciences of the twenty-first century
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, the sixth scientific camp for the Kingdom’s orphans, “Misbar 6,” was launched, which was organized by the Benaa Association for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province during the period from November 25 to December 1, in strategic partnership with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and with the participation of 120 male and female students in the third year of secondary school, representing 26 orphan associations across the Kingdom. The Director General of the Benaa Society for Orphan Care, Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Khalidi, expressed his happiness at the launch of the sixth edition of the camp, which brings together 120 male and female students who will obtain knowledge and skills in (9) scientific tracks and a group of enrichment, entertainment and cultural tracks for 7 days at the hands of a distinguished elite of faculty members at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. Al-Khalidi stated that the camp will witness practical and theoretical training in scientific tracks that keep pace with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and contribute to building confidence and self-development. “Al-Khalidi hopes that this knowledge will support the participants to contribute effectively to achieving the goals of the ambitious vision.” Al-Khalidi pointed out that the scientific tracks that will be presented in the camp include chemistry, materials science, aeronautics, game design and development, robotics, innovation and design, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, programming, and cybersecurity. Al-Khalidi extended his thanks to His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, for his generous patronage and support of the camp. He also confirmed that the camp is being monitored by the Board of Directors of the Bena Association, led by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Muhammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bena Association, as well as partners and supporters. Al-Khalidi hoped that the desired benefit from the camp would be achieved for all male and female students participating in the camp, as these knowledge and skills would be of great help to them, whether in their university studies or after graduation.
