Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Charitable Society for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province “Benaa”, extended his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect them - for the support and assistance that the charitable sector in the Kingdom receives to enable the associations to develop, compete and provide better services to the beneficiaries.

In the details, Prince Turki bin Mohammed congratulated the wise leadership on the occasion of honoring the Benaa Association for Orphan Care in the Eastern Region at the level of the Arabian Gulf in the category of pioneering projects in the field of social work within the thirty-sixth session of the Council of Ministers of Labor, Affairs and Social Development in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held in the Sultanate of Oman on Wednesday 9/4/2019.

On this occasion, Prince Turki said: The unlimited support that the third sector receives from the government of my Lord, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, has had a great impact on the development of associations in various regions of the Kingdom and the increase in their numbers, as the nation’s ambitious vision made the third sector a partner in development and achieving the vision, and we are now seeing the fruits of this support for this sector, praise be to God.

He added: By virtue of my chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the Bena Association for Orphan Care for years, I have witnessed the great development and movement in this sector. The associations were established and did not have a clear vision and future goals, and this makes many of them unable to continue or continue without development.

He continued: But, praise be to God, in light of the great interest of the state, may God protect it, we have come great strides until we have become providing quality services that have made us eligible to win awards at the local, Gulf, and Arab world levels. The honor we received in Bina a few days ago is considered evidence of continued excellence and development. We received this award in recognition of the successes achieved by the association through presenting pioneering social projects, the most prominent of which are (the initiative to build capacity and exchange the experiences of workers in orphan associations in the Kingdom) and (the scientific camp for orphans.Kingdom).

He continued: The association has achieved many awards in recent years, the most prominent of which is the King Khalid Award for Excellence in the Non-Profit Organizations Branch. The association was honored by my Lord, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect him. The association was also honored in the Al-Safa Award for achieving standards of transparency, integrity, justice and accountability. It also received the Al-Subaie Award for Excellence in Charitable Work, the Al-Sanabel Award for Social Responsibility in the Field of Orphan Care for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries 2017, and the Prince Mohammed Award.Bin Fahd for the best charitable performance in the Arab world.

He noted that the leadership is keen on developing the citizen and meeting his needs, and this support that charitable organizations receive is nothing but a belief in their important and prominent role in serving the nation and its people and contributing to achieving the nation’s vision 2030.

It should be noted that pioneering projects in the fields of social work are honored at the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to dedicate the strategic approach. The honor aims to encourage and motivate private voluntary civil organizations and institutions to make outstanding efforts and achieve distinguished achievements in sustainable development, unleash latent energies and open horizons for non-governmental organizations and institutions, as well as encouraging the spirit of social and voluntary work in all social fields.

The scientific camp for the Kingdom’s orphans (Misbar), which was organized by the association, had the participation of 80 scientifically distinguished orphans in the secondary stage and included 8 scientific tracks represented in space and aviation sciences, innovation, robotics, toastmaster, art and media, sports, and scientific experiments. It was held for three consecutive years and aimed to enhance the life, job, and training skills of the association’s children and focus on the skills of the twenty-first century, which will have an impact in opening the future horizons of these young people and providing them with promising opportunities, both in terms ofUniversity education and supporting them in choosing appropriate majors. The capacity building initiative and exchange of experiences of workers in orphan associations in the Kingdom was also the second project in which the association participated and aims to develop and develop the capabilities of workers in the field of orphan care, qualifying them and building their capabilities with the aim of developing their performance so that they can contribute more effectively to orphan care and have an impact on developing the services and programs provided that aim to empower orphans and qualify them to be productive and active in their society.

This project is an initiative by the Bena Association for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province to improve the services provided to orphans in all regions of the Kingdom and to benefit from the expertise and experiences to provide a distinguished service to the orphan. The number of beneficiaries of the initiative has reached more than 900 leaders, executives and stakeholders, representing 24 associations specialized in serving orphans, in which more than 1,300 male and female employees provide care for more than 135,000 orphans, male and female, and widows throughout the Kingdom.

Binaa Association is considered one of the distinguished associations in caring for, rehabilitating and empowering orphans and their families in the Eastern Province by providing a range of initiatives and programs that contribute to building the orphan’s personality, improving his life and his family, and enabling him to be an active member of society.
