50 “Benaa” families are close to achieving safe housing ownership
Dammam, Dhu al-Hijjah 06, 1438 AH, corresponding to August 28, 2017 AD, SPA The Director General of the "Benaa" Association for Orphan Care in the Eastern Region, Member of the Shura Council, Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Khalidi, accompanied by the Supervisor of Developmental Housing at the Ministry of Housing, Abdullah Mohsen Al-Nimri, recently visited the housing project implementation site in Dammam to view the housing units and models that will be delivered to the families of orphans registered with the association within the Safe Housing Project, in implementation of the agreement signed between the Ministry of Housing and the "Benaa" Association last Ramadan, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman binAbdulaziz, Deputy Emir of the Eastern Province, during His Highness’ patronage of the first Bina Iftar celebration. This visit was intended to arrange a visit for fifty orphan families who were shown models of units that suit them in preparation for purchasing them. This is the first stage and will be followed by successive stages that will enable 200 families to own suitable housing within the Ministry of Housing projects in the Eastern Province. Al-Khalidi explained that the association launched a marketing campaign for the project under the name “Safe Housing” to achieve integration between community members, charitable entities and institutions and its contribution to supporting the project that will fulfill the dreams of orphan families of owning suitable housing that will have a significant impact on their lives. The project is one of the large projects implemented by the association and aims to achieve its mission of securing a decent life for the orphan and his family, and this is what is achieved year after year in light of the support the association receives from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. And His Highness the Trustworthy Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect them - which pays all attention and care to all charitable societies in general and the societies that provide their services to orphans in particular. He added that the project will achieve, God willing, a qualitative achievement for the association’s families, as 50 families will own modern housing in a distinguished location and deposit the rented housing that the association contributes to paying the rent for due to their inability to pay. This project will have a positive impact on the families, as the lack of permanent housing for these families makes them live in constant anxiety. The project is one of the association’s initiatives and its community participation in achieving the Kingdom’s 2030 vision in the field of raising the percentage of citizens owning homes. A group of families expressed their overwhelming happiness in choosing the appropriate housing for them within the Safe Housing Project, as they found suitable housing units that fit the size of the family and the number of its members. These initiatives come under the guidance of the Board of Directors of the Bena Association, headed by His Highness Prince Turki bin Muhammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who is keen for the Association to provide distinguished quality services and initiatives that contribute to the care and rehabilitation of the orphan and his family. For his part, the General Supervisor of Developmental Housing, Abdullah bin Mohsen Al-Nimri, stated that the safe housing project for the “Benaa” Association is based on a previous agreement signed with Developmental Housing last Ramadan, and aims to provide housing for 200 families of the association’s employees with social security, and that the step of purchasing 50 housing units now comes as an activating step to enable the outcomes that the Developmental Housing Initiative is working on and to achieve the rest of the goals and agreements that the initiative made months ago from now. He added that the Developmental Housing Initiative seeks to document and activate agreements with the Ministry’s partners from non-profit sector organizations, including the “Binaa” Association, which played an active role, in order to enhance integration with them in identifying, selecting and implementing development projects and informing them of the completion rate of joint projects targeting social security beneficiaries.
