Within the programs of the Benaa Association for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province that supports families benefiting from its services, it implemented the Ramadan Basket Project for the year 1438 AH, which aims to secure the value of food supplies in the holy month of Ramadan for families registered with the association.
Abdullah Al-Khalidi, a member of the Shura Council and Director-General of the Association, explained that the Association began disbursing the Ramadan basket subsidy before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan in the amount of (668,400) riyals and targeted (2,228) beneficiaries of the association’s sons, daughters, and widows.
Al-Khalidi stated that it is the association’s policy to preserve the dignity of its beneficiary, as the value of the Ramadan basket has been transferred to the (manafiz) system approved by the association, through which the beneficiary purchases via the magnetic card from the approved commercial centers without the need to visit the association’s headquarters or stand in queues in order to obtain the aid.
Al-Khalidi pointed out that the association is keen to involve community members seeking wages in supporting such programs, as the entire project was covered by donations, offering his thanks to everyone who contributed to this project.
