Tomorrow, Sunday, the largest gathering of leaders of orphan associations will begin to build capabilities and exchange experiences
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, the “Capacity Building and Exchange of Experiences of Orphan Associations” initiative will be launched in its fifth edition tomorrow morning, Sunday, and hosted by the Eastern Province, organized by the Bena Association for Orphan Care, with the participation of more than 40 orphan care associations and institutions representing orphan associations in all regions of the Kingdom, and with the participation of many ministries and government agencies concerned with the non-profit sector, social investment and finance.The Director General of the Benaa Association, Abdullah Al-Khalidi, explained that the initiative is being held by the association for the fifth time and in which the leaders of orphan associations at the Kingdom level participate. The initiative seeks to enrich the knowledge of the orphan sector and its leaders in the field of assigning government services to the non-profit sector in the field of orphan associations’ specializations in order to qualify, empower and care for orphans. This initiative is in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The results of the study of the contribution of orphan care associations in the sector will also be announced.Non-profit organization in the Kingdom, which was implemented by a specialized scientific center and in which 39 associations specialized in caring for orphans participated. The number of beneficiaries of the services of orphan associations reached (126,223) orphans, and the number of workers in the associations reached (1,426) male and female employees. The study also showed important numbers that will be announced at the ceremony that will be held on Sunday evening.
Al-Khalidi pointed out that many rich workshops and discussion sessions were held throughout the duration of the initiative. A workshop was held on “Challenges of the Orphan Sector and Opportunities for a Promising Strategy.” The workshop discusses the most prominent challenges and opportunities in the orphan sector and the tools and capabilities that contribute to developing the sector and the beneficiaries. A panel discussion is also held on “Assigning government services to the for-profit sector” and discusses a number of topics, including introducing the legislative capabilities of the government services initiative for the sector.Non-profit organizations and raising the efficiency of non-profit organizations in granting government services. The episode also reviews the experiences of some associations in granting, and a workshop on measuring social impact and feasibility in social investment is held. The workshop aims to provide participants with theoretical and applied knowledge in measuring the social impact and feasibility of social investment projects. The workshops target decision-makers from the leadership of orphan associations (chairmen and members of boards of directors/executive leadership).
Al-Khalidi added that a “Innovating Social Investment Projects” workshop will also be held, which aims to enable the leaders of orphan associations to understand social innovation tools. A “Social Investment Financing Tools” workshop will also be held, which aims to gain familiarity with the nature of social investment financing tools. A “Building Social Investment Units” workshop will also be held, which aims to introduce and train participants on the mechanism of building social investment units in civil associations. This initiative is considered the largest gathering of those interested in serving orphans in all regions of the Kingdom, and orphan associations have been keen toIn the Kingdom to participate by nominating participants early.
